Kitron is currently looking for a Component Engineer, located in India, Chennai, where BB Electronics (part of Kitron Group) operates. The person in this position will be responsible for assigned products by assisting customers on component issues in all production stages and being internal support for component-related questions within all Kitron Group sites.
Check, verify and acquire written approval from the customer for BOM (bill of material).
Register and maintain component information in CIS (component information system) and ERP systems by following standard rules; create cross-references between the customer and Kitron item number; prepare a component list and upload it into ERP.
Handle PCN (Product Change Notification) and LTB (Last time buy/obsolete).
Handle BOM changes and revisions in the ERP system (ECO - engineering change order).
Suggest replacements for currently used components and if required initiate the tests for alternatives.
Convey life cycle analysis (LCA) for BOM.
Participate in projects across the organization and perform other relevant tasks delegated by management.
Bachelor's or master’s degree in electronics engineering.
Good knowledge of components, suppliers, and manufacturing processes.
At least 3 years of work experience in the EMS industry (component engineering experience is mandatory).
Fluent written and spoken English.
